Preserving, Promoting, and Uplifting Zomi Identity
Our founding and largest chapter serving the Zomi community in Oklahoma
Serving the Zomi community in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and surrounding areas
The Oklahoma Chapter of ZOMUS was established in 2008 as the founding chapter of the national organization. With the largest Zomi population in the United States concentrated in Oklahoma, particularly in the Tulsa area, our chapter serves as the headquarters for ZOMUS USA.
Over the years, our chapter has grown from a small group of passionate musicians and cultural enthusiasts to a vibrant community organization with hundreds of active members. We host regular events, workshops, and performances throughout the year, and have been instrumental in developing the annual Zomi Lengthe Competition into a nationally recognized event.
Our mission is to preserve and promote Zomi musical heritage within our local community while supporting the broader cultural needs of Zomi people in Oklahoma. We work closely with churches, schools, and other community organizations to ensure that Zomi music and traditions continue to thrive in our new homeland.
