ZOMUS is proud to announce that registration for the annual Zomi Lengthe Competition 2025 is now officially open! This year's competition will be held on July 15, 2025, at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center in Oklahoma.

The Zomi Lengthe Competition has grown to become the most prestigious Zomi musical event in the United States since its founding in 2010. Each year, talented Zomi singers and musicians from across the country compete for recognition, prizes, and the opportunity to showcase their talents to the broader Zomi community.

Competition Categories

This year's competition will feature several categories to showcase diverse Zomi musical talents:

• Traditional Solo: Performances of traditional Zomi folk songs using traditional vocal techniques and arrangements.
• Contemporary Solo: Modern interpretations of Zomi music or original compositions that reflect contemporary musical influences.
• Group Performance: Ensembles of three or more performers presenting harmonized vocal arrangements.
• Gospel: Spiritual and religious songs performed in Zomi languages.
• Original Composition: New songs composed by the performers that reflect Zomi themes and musical traditions.
• Youth Category: A special category for performers under 18 years old.

Registration Information

To participate in the Zomi Lengthe Competition 2025, contestants need to:

1. Complete the online registration form available on this website by June 15, 2025.
2. Submit an audition video (2-3 minutes) demonstrating your vocal abilities.
3. Pay the registration fee:
   • Early bird (before May 15): $40 solo, $80 group
   • Regular (after May 15): $50 solo, $100 group
   • Youth category: $25 (flat fee)

Distinguished Panel of Judges

Performances will be evaluated by a panel of respected Zomi musicians and cultural figures who will judge based on vocal quality, musical arrangement, lyrical content, stage presence, and cultural relevance.

This year's judges include master traditional vocalist Pu Thang Kam Suante, vocal coach Nu Esther Ngaih Lun, music producer Pu David Mung, gospel music director Nu Lily Dim, and cultural scholar Pu Vung Za Lian.

Beyond being a contest, Zomi Lengthe serves as a vital platform for cultural preservation and community building. It brings together Zomi people from different states, creates opportunities for intergenerational connection, and helps to ensure that our musical traditions continue to thrive in the diaspora.
